**GOFFS ORBY UPDATE**

18 August 2017

Lot 86 at Goffs Orby Sale 2017 received a nice update as full-sister Northern Angel (IRE) won her maiden today at the second time of asking. Northern Angel (IRE) made all in the Pawson Transport EBF Maiden Stakes (Div II) at Nottingham for trainer John Quinn. She was pressed by Bowler Hat entering the final furlong but held on gamely to win by a short head.


Bred by Yeomanstown Stud, she is by Dark Angel (IRE) out of Muzdaan (IRE). The grandam is Moyglare Stud Stakes Gr1 winner, Belle Genius. Fourteen-time winning blacktype performer in Hong Kong, Lucky Nine (IRE) is also in the immediate family. Northern Angel (IRE) made €100,000 at last years Orby Sale selling to Richard Knight and Sean Quinn.

Muirin

Tattersalls Ireland had a great weekend for their upcoming yearling sale updates. The Tattersalls Ireland yearling sale takes place from September 19th - 21st September, including part 1 & 2.

 

MUIRIN (IRE), pictured above, won her maiden first time out at the Curragh on Sunday for trainer Eddie Lynam. Out of the black-type winning mare Girouette (IRE) and by Gilltown Stud sire Born To Sea (IRE), she is a full sister to Mount Coote Stud's Lot 454 at Tattersalls Ireland Yearling Sales Part 1. BOREAGH LASS (IRE) broke her maiden at the second time of asking, winning at Windsor on Sunday. Trained by Henry Candy, she was placed seventh first time out but went on to win the six furlong maiden comfortably. Her Society Rock (IRE) half-sister is Lot 9 at Tattersalls Ireland Yearling Sale Part 1 and is consigned by Manister House Stud. Click here for the full pedigree.

 

CORINTHIA KNIGHT (IRE) brought his tally to three wins so far in his two-year-old campaign when winning by six lengths at Wolverhampton on Friday. Trained by Archie Watson, the Society Rock (IRE) colt also came fourth in the Wetherby's Super Sprint at Newbury. SOCIETY'S DREAM (IRE) picked up a win at Redcar on Saturday for trainer Karl Burke. Out of the two-year-old winning mare Majestic Eviction (IRE), and by stand-out first season sire Society Rock (IRE), this filly's full-sister consigned by Cloneymore Farm is Lot 531 at Tattersalls Ireland Yearling Sale Part 2. SEPTEMBER YEARLING SALE CATALOGUE NOW ONLINE

The Tattersalls Ireland September Yearling Sale catalogue is now online and features 487 outstanding yearlings, complimented by a further 271 superb yearlings catalogued for Part II. Over the past number of years, the September Yearling Sale's reputation has continued to flourish, both in the ring and also on the racetrack.

Four Classic winners came from Tattersalls Ireland in 2016; Galileo Gold, Hawksmoor (IRE), Wicklow Brave and Conselice. Last weekend the September Yearling Sale enjoyed more Stakes success when Unfortunately (IRE) landed the Group 2 Prix Robert Papin at Maisons-Laffitte, the third two-year-old Stakes winner in France this season. Already this year, 80 two-year-olds have won 100 races and this number keeps rising daily.
