Continuing the fine winning streak at Cheltenham, Willie Mullins and Paul Townend teamed up to take the feature races at Limerick on Sunday. KATE APPLEBY SHOES (IRE) was first in the winner’s enclosure taking the Grade 3 Kerry Group EBF Shannon Spray Mares Novice Hurdle. The daughter of Flemensfirth was tucked in behind the leaders for the majority of the race but took the lead at the top of the hill eventually scoring by five lengths. The Robert McCarthy-bred mare has now won four races including two bumpers and a maiden hurdle previously.

DAISY’S GIFT (IRE) got back to winning ways taking the Grade 2 Charleville Cheese EBF Mares Novice Chase. Settled just behind the leaders through-out battling hard to see off Slowmotion (Soldier of Fortune) in the closing stages. DAISY’S GIFT (IRE) runs in the colours of her owner/breeder NG King and is by Glenview’s Stud top-class sire Presenting. She is out of an unraced half-sister to the Grade 3 winning hurdler Shivermetimber (IRE) who had produced two Stakes-winning jumpers in Katie Too (IRE) and The Pirate’s Queen (IRE).
