LEGER HERO LUCARNO MOVES TO LONGFORD HOUSE STUD

04 December 2017

LUCARNO becomes the fourth exciting new addition to the 2018 roster at Longford House Stud in County Tipperary, where he joins Air Chief Marshal, Fuisse and Proclamation (IRE). Owner/breeder George Strawbridge will retain a 50% share in the now 13-year-old, who beat Mahler to win the 2007 St Leger. Trained by John Gosden, he also won twice at Group 2 level and finished fourth in the Epsom Derby won by Authorized (IRE).

The son of Dynaformer is a full-brother to Group 2 winners Flying Officer and Thought Worthy and a half-brother to this year’s Lingfield Derby Trial third Tartini. They are out of the Listed winner Vignette, herself a daughter of Group 3 winner Be Exclusive. Prix de la Foret runner-up Karar sire Lexicon and Grade 1 performer Cozi Rosie feature further down the page.

LUCARNO’s best progeny currently are the useful hurdlers Dame De Compagnie and Lamanver Odyssey. He will command a fee of €2,500 at his new base.
