The main supporting race on the card at Dusseldorf in Germany on Sunday was the Listed Junioren Preis, a 1600m contest for juveniles, which gave Coolmore-based first season sire Camelot his first Stakes winner, namely ALOUNAK.  Trained by Jean-Pierre Carvalho, the colt was already a winner on debut in Munich in July.  Staying on strongly up the straight, he got his nose in front on the line to win by a head.  With eight winners so far, his runners include Alhadab and King of Camelot, both winners of maidens at Lyon Parilly last Thursday.  Camelot stood for €35,000 in 2017.

Another Coolmore-based sire to enjoy Stakes success elsewhere in Germany yesterday, was Canford Cliffs (IRE).  His daughter, PRINCESS ASTA, took the feature race at Munich, the Listed Bayerischer Fliegerpreis over 1300m.  Trained by Mario Hofer, this was her third Stakes win and a successful defence of the title which provided her with her first Stakes win twelve months ago.  Canford Cliffs (IRE) stands at Coolmore Stud where he commanded a fee of €10,000 in 2017.
