Six weeks ago this newsletter flagged up the rise to prominence of star Japanese two-year-old TOWER OF LONDON who garnered huge praise in the wake of an easy Listed triumph at Hanshin.

In the Group 2 Keio Hai Nisai Stakes in Tokyo on Saturday, he looked the real deal as he won by two lengths over the seven furlong trip. This horse looks readymade for the Classics next season for Darley Japan judged on how he settles and quickens.

Anchored in midfield until the homestretch, he found himself at least three lengths from the lead with two furlongs to race before two or three cracks to extend by Christophe Lemaire and win going away under his own steam.

He is the 23rd stakes winner and ninth Group winner sired by Kildangan Stud’s Raven’s Pass and is out of the Dalakhani mare Snow Pine.
