ITBA Summer Educational Programme

ITBA Summer Educational Programme

The Summer Series element of ITBA Educational Programme 2021 gets underway at the start of June with a number of virtual workshops in collaboration with Equi Ed, Wexford.

Following the successful roll out and take of these workshops last summer, the decision was made to incorporate them into this year’ s programme.  Equi-Ed has produced a range of innovative and flexible equine educational study programmes, which are underpinned by science and experience of working with a wide range of thoroughbreds of all disciplines on a local, national and international platform.

The workshops, which are equivalent to Level 4 accreditation will run from 10am- 1pm. Once again, all fees have been waived as this element of our Summer Series is kindly co-funded by the Department of Agriculture under its 2021 Equine Technical Support Scheme.  As space is limited, pre-booking is essential. For additional information or to register for any of these virtual workshops email Kerry Ryan at [email protected]

Commenting, Kerry Ryan said” ITBA is delighted to host this series of virtual workshops in collaboration with Equi Ed which, covers a wide range of topics relevant to breeders and feeds into today’s thoroughbred production methods. Plans are in place for a breeders’ trip to Equi Ed, located outside Enniscorthy in Co Wexford over the summer for a tour of the facility and an outdoor demonstration.  We are currently working on the July element of our Summer Series.

ITBA will host a Climate Action Webinar towards the end of June to look at ways the Irish thoroughbred breeding industry can address the twin challenges of climate change and biodiversity loss. More details in terms of date and panel of speakers to follow in due course.”
