The Goffs February Sale takes place this week, from Tuesday 6th to Thursday 8th February. The sale begins on Tuesday at 11am with two-year-olds, older horses, horses in training and a half day of weanlings. This is followed on Wednesday at 10am with weanlings and a third and final day dedicated to breeding stock and fillies out of training starting also at 10am.
There are 338 weanlings on offer with pedigrees that will appeal to buyers of both codes.  Flat sires represented include Acclamation, Australia, Battle of Marengo (IRE), Dark Angel (IRE), Epaulette, Gutaifan (IRE), Holy Roman Emperor (IRE), Kodiac, Lope de Vega (IRE), No Nay Never, and Sea The Stars (IRE) while among the National Hunt sires featured are Fame And Glory, Kingston Hill, Tagula (IRE), Walk In The Park (IRE), and Yeats (IRE).

The breeding stock section includes mares in foal to Acclamation, Battle of Marengo (IRE), Excelebration (IRE), Footstepsinthesand, Make Believe and Tamayuz. The catalogue features drafts from The Aga Khan Studs, Ballincurrig House Stud, Ballylinch Stud, Baroda & Colbinstown Stud, Moyglare Stud Farm, The Castlebridge Consignment, and many others of note.

There are 627 lots on offer over the three days with highlights including:


SHENZI (IRE) (Lot 57) is a Fastnet Rock half-brother to four winners including Grade 3 Jersey Stakes winner Ishvana (IRE).

PRONOUNCED (IRE) (Lot 71) was a winner over hurdles at three. He is a half-brother to eight winners including Grade 2 performer Zig Zag (IRE). His second dam is Grade 1 winner Rivere D’Or.


Lot 299 is a Make Believe half-brother to seven winners including Grade 2 winner Always Hopeful and the Listed performer Nacho Libre.

Lot 399 is a Cappella Sansevero half-brother to Irish 1,000 Guineas heroine Jet Setting (IRE).

Breeding Stock:

GLAMOROUS APPROACH (IRE) (Lot 578) is a dual Listed winner and Grade 3 performer. She is from the extended family of Champion race-horse Teofilo (IRE).

LA CHAPELLE (IRE) (Lot 600) is a daughter of Holy Roman Emperor (IRE) out of Irish 1,000 Guineas winner Nightime (IRE). This mare is a half-sister to Man O’War Stakes winner Zhukova and she is sold in foal to Fascinating Rock (IRE).
