EQTIDAAR (IRE) burst to prominence with a one length victory over Sands Of Mali in a fiercely contested Group 1 Commonwealth Cup at Royal Ascot on Friday.

Sired by the Irish National Stud’s flagbearer Invincible Spirit (IRE), EQTIDAAR (IRE)was bred by Shadwell for Sheikh Hamdan al Maktoum and is a half-brother to Massaat (IRE), runner-up in the 2,000 Guineas in 2016. His Irish links extend further to his damsire being Rathbarry Stud’s stalwart Acclamation.

In a race in which Irish-bred fillies filled the first four places home, MAIN EDITION (IRE) maintained her unbeaten record in the Group 3 Albany Stakes for juvenile fillies, the first race of the day.  Now boasting a 3-3 record, the daughter of Coolmore stallion Zoffany (IRE) had a neck to spare from Godolphin’s Dandy Man (IRE) filly at the end of the six furlong dash.

MAIN EDITION (IRE) was bred by Minch Bloodstock and is a half-sister to three other winners, principally Major Cadeaux who is now a sire himself and was Group 1 placed as well as being a races a multiple stakes winner on the track.
