07 January 2021

Tara Stud has announced that the outstanding G1-winning miler River Boyne (IRE) is joining their stallion roster for 2021. The son of Dandy Man (IRE) is a multiple Group/Listed winner of nine races and over €1 million in prize money from two to five years. Described by his trainer Jeff Mullins as, “The real definition of a racehorse with push button acceleration,” his five Group wins included the G1 Frank Kilroe Mile, G2 Mathis Brothers Mile, G2 Twilight Derby, G3 La Jolla Stakes and the G3 Thunder Road Stakes that established him as one of the outstanding milers in the USA. The Irish-bred was placed in 16 of his 18 Group and Listed starts on turf. River Boyne (IRE) becomes the first son of Champion sprinter and multiple G1 sire Dandy Man (IRE) to take up stud duties and his dam  Clytha is a daughter of the Champion miler Mark of Esteem (IRE) and a half-sister to the Champion miler Ventiquattrofogli.

Derek Iceton stated “River Boyne has arrived safely and we will be announcing details of his syndication and nomination fee shortly but I’m thrilled to have secured him after closely following his career  since his impressive victory at 2 years. He has all the qualities that you would wish to see in a stallion, ultra sound, impressive physique and a great attitude."
